Samuel D. Simpson
Samuel D. Simpson, CFP® began his financial planning career in 1977, and in the early 1980’s he joined EFHutton whose financial planning division provided fee based counseling to professional athletes and entertainers, corporations and their executives, and others who desired the independence of a fee-based planning approach. Then, in 1984, Sam made the decision to focus his practice on retirement planning and assisting those who wished to enjoy their retirement years; and finally in 2015, Sam fulfilled a lifelong dream by establishing his own independent practice which is dedicated to serving those who value a conscientious approach to planning for retirement while also prudently managing the financial affairs that make for a satisfying latter third of one’s life.
Sam continues to assist others with planning and managing their retirement years in three key areas, specifically (1) verifying that one has sufficient resources to retire and helping those who transition into their retirement years with a minimum of change and surprise; (2) providing counsel to those who lives are impacted by a significant change such as the receipt of an inheritance or learning how to manage one’s funds before or after the loss of a loved one or key decision maker, and finally, (3) making certain one’s estate plans are in order, and guiding clients through the decisions that will most affect the individuals they love.
Though Sam was born and grew up in Arizona, he made Texas his home after graduating from Baylor University in 1975. He has two children, Angela, who practices her dream in our 50th state, and Scott, who is still figuring out what to do with the rest of his life. When not working, Sam enjoys listening to audio books, kayaking, an occasional round of golf, and sharing a meal with friends.
